Fort Pierce Man Charged with Trafficking Heroin and Cocaine

On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, in the Fort Pierce area of Florida, a man was arrested and charged with a number of drug related offenses. Police had conducted a search of his vehicle and apartment and uncovered a huge array of drugs, as well as two handguns, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.

The man, who is 33 years old and who resides on the 800 block of Grand Club Place in Fort Pierce, Florida, faced a multitude of drug and other types of charges, including possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription for it, trafficking cocaine, trafficking heroin and two charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

After the search, police officers located 16 grams of heroin and fentanyl, seven grams of ecstasy, 10 grams of marijuana and 39 grams of crack and cocaine in powder form in the man’s apartment and vehicle, according to the arrest affidavit.

On top of all of these substances, the sheriff’s deputies also uncovered drug paraphernalia, including a marijuana grinder, several plastic baggies, three digital scales and a series of straws and razors that were covered in a powdery substance and other drug residue, according to the arrest affidavit.

Two weapons were also found in the man’s apartment. They were revealed to be a .22 caliber handgun complete with rounds and magazines and a .38 caliber Ruger pistol that was loaded, according to the arrest affidavit.

In addition to all of these findings, police also discovered around 20 capsules that were filled with a mysterious substance and six grams of powder that they could not determine. All of those items were sent to a lab for testing to determine their identities.

After the man was arrested, he remained at the St. Lucie County Jail as of late Wednesday, February 14, 2018. His bail was set at $196,500.
