The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office sent a SWAT team to raid two homes suspected of drug dealing. After the raids, the police arrested at least seven individuals in order to take down a suspected dealer of amphetamines and the homes that were being used as drug houses.

According to the officials, the undercover police performed investigations at homes located on Ninth Place and 44th Avenue. According to the reports, a man who is 53 years old has conducted drug sales from both homes since he was released from jail back in June.

The man, who was arrested back in March 2020, was charged with the selling and delivery of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a church, possession of a controlled substance, showing a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. According to the arrest record, the individual was held in jail on a bail of $260,000.

The man, who lives at the 1200 block of 19th Avenue, was again arrested on Friday, August 7, 2020 on charges of violating the terms of his bail and for a misdemeanor charge involving possession of drug paraphernalia. The latter was discovered during a traffic stop on that same day.

At around 5:35 PM that Friday afternoon, an Indian River County deputy stopped a green Ford Explorer that was being driven by a woman who is 52 years old. The man was inside as a passenger when the stop was made at Cumberland Farms on Oslo Road, according to the arrest affidavit.

The deputy searched the vehicle and reported that he had found a few bags the woman claimed belonged to her. The contents of those bags included more than 1 gram of crystal meth and glass pipes that were used to smoke the controlled substance.

There was another bag that allegedly belonged to the man. It contained a pipe, which is what led to him being charged with a misdemeanor paraphernalia possession crime, according to the affidavit.

The woman, who resides at the 800 block of 18th Street, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

During the same time when the traffic stop occurred, the Indian River County Special Weapons and Tactics Team went into a home at 680 Ninth Place, which is a location where the man was believed to have sold drugs. By 6 PM, five individuals inside the home were arrested and police conducted a search, according to reports. They uncovered meth and drug-related paraphernalia.

According to the homeowner, a woman aged 54, she lived there for years and was aware that her home was being used for drug use and sales. Police found syringes in her bedroom and were told they were for meth use. It was also revealed that someone tried to flush the evidence down the toilet.

Two more people, a man and a woman, were arrested for resisting arrest without violence.

Still two more people, another man and woman, were arrested after refusing to allow police entry into their home to search for drugs and paraphernalia. Police found crack cocaine, meth, spoons, syringes and pipes. There was also drug residue all over the house.
