Three Men Arrested in AutoZone Store Robbery

The alleged robbery of the Auto Zone store in Port St. Lucie resulted in the arrest of three men on June 30 by city police officers. The trio was charged with felony robbery and each remains in jail under $1 million bond, with two of the men already facing warrants for violating probation on burglary charges.

At approximately 8:50 p.m. on June 29, the three men allegedly entered the store brandishing handguns. Ordering all individuals inside to the ground, they then took everyone’s cell phones, keys and wallets.

The store manager was then allegedly given a tan book bag and told to put two cash registers and two drop boxes holding that day’s receipts inside. The manager was also forced to open up the store safe and put that money in the bag.

Just 70 minutes later, the suspect’s getaway vehicle was spotted by a Port St. Lucie deputy at 2296 US 1, the site of a 7-11 store. The deputy saw an African-American man matching the police description and also saw two men inside the vehicle, apparently counting money.

After calling for backup, the trio was arrested and found in possession of cash and the alleged robbery weapon, a glock handgun.

The serious nature of the charges means that the three accused men will likely be seeking an Indian River County criminal lawyer to defend them. One such attorney, Jonathan Jay Kirschner, has seen many cases of this kind over his lengthy legal career.

Kirschner knows that the sheer scope of laws changes with each passing year. Actions can be abruptly ruled illegal, giving police departments greater power in charging individuals with crimes.

When it comes to issues of theft, the dizzying array of potential crimes that prosecutors can charge the accused with can require skilled representation that effectively gets at the heart of a case.

In some instances, Kirschner has seen cases of this nature result in mistaken identity, evidence against the accused manipulated or manufactured and other key factors when it comes to court.

There are no guarantees with courtroom verdicts, but using a skilled attorney to supply the very best defense possible is always a good idea. Jonathan Jay Kirschner is an experienced Indian River County criminal lawyer that provides a vigorous defense for his clients, so if you or someone you know is in need of such assistance, contact Kirschner today.
