Man With Crack in Buttocks Arrested in Fort Pierce

Recently, a man was arrested in Fort Pierce, Florida with crack cocaine hidden in his buttocks. The arrest was the result of an undercover police investigation where St. Lucie County Sheriff’s officers were attempting to identify and arrest people suspected of selling drugs. A 29-year-old Fort Pierce man approached an undercover officer who was sitting in an unmarked police vehicle and entered into a business transaction with the officer. The undercover police officer bought two rocks of crack cocaine for $20. The man was arrested around 6:30 p.m.

After arresting the suspect, the police discovered a tube hidden in his butt that held six additional rocks of crack cocaine. The man was booked into jail on two felony cocaine charges. While the circumstances of this case may seem funny, there is nothing funny about the two felony drug charges that this man faces. Felonies are taken seriously in the State of Florida. If convicted, this guy faces the real possibility of doing some serious prison time. He needs the help of an experienced Fort Pierce criminal defense lawyer.

Anyone accused of a drug crime in Florida needs to take these charges very seriously. If the man arrested for selling crack to the undercover officer is convicted of drug trafficking, he faces at least three years in prison under Florida’s mandatory minimum sentence law. With so much loss of liberty at stake, this man needs to get the advice of a drug dealer’s criminal lawyer right away.

People charged with drug offenses in Florida should not give up hope. An experienced Fort Pierce criminal defense lawyer is available to help them in their time of need. An arrest on a drug charge does not necessarily mean that the police have an airtight case. The police only need probable cause to make an arrest. The prosecutor, however, must prove that the defendant is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt when the case goes to court. Fortunately for the defendants, criminal defense attorneys are experts at raising the reasonable doubt that they need to be set free.
