Fort Pierce Man Arrested For Firearm Offenses

Ezra Ealy, who is a 20 year-old man from Fort Pierce, was arrested on Monday, July 13, 2015. He fired a shotgun and then ran off. He has been charged with possession of firearm by a felon. Ealy has also been charged with possession of a short barrel shotgun.

Ealy was spotted on 3100 block of Avenue F. This was the same place where a 25 year-old man named Dontavious Taylor was gunned down last Wednesday. Ealy matched the description of a suspect that was caught early. Officials chased Ealy on foot and eventually they were able to catch him.

Fortunately, no one was injured when Ealy fired the shots. He is being held at the St. Lucie County Jail on a $ 150,000 bond. The Second Amendment gives people the right to bear arms. However, people in Florida are often prosecuted for violating gun laws. For example, it is against the law for anyone who has been convicted of a felony to possess a firearm. Like Ezra Ealy, people who are caught violating that law can be arrested. They could also face heavy fines.

It is also important to note that just because you have a license to carry a gun does not mean that you can carry it anywhere. Many public places have banned people from carrying guns even if they have a concealed weapon permit. That is why it is important to make sure that you can legally carry a gun into a public place.

Having an understanding of the laws and regulations regarding gun ownership can help you stay out of trouble. However, it can be difficult to understand all of the laws regarding gun ownership in Florida. That is why if you are facing charges for a firearm crime, then you will need to contact a Fort Pierce firearms lawyer.
