Vero Beach Woman Charged With Biting School Clerk

Everyone gets hungry from time to time, but it’s not particularly wise to bite a police officer. A 40-year-old woman from Vero Beach was placed in jail with a 3,000 bail for a particularly violent act that occurred at Vero Beach Elementary School. The woman walked into the school office and immediately started hitting the school clerk. She then bit the clerk on her leg in the thigh area before some other school staff members finally came and separated the two persons. The defendant’s biting rampage did not end there, however. She bit a police officer, as well. She will need to seek the assistance of a good Vero Beach criminal attorney for her case.

Not many details are available about what drove this woman to behave in such a dangerous fashion. Reporters notated that she had communicated with the school several times that day about picking up her sick daughter. At some point, the woman got extremely angry with the school and accused them of poisoning her child. The woman’s anger stirred and boiled all the way until she got to the school and unleashed the fury. A Vero Beach criminal attorney is going to have to assist her with defending her rage at this point.

The charges that the police brought upon this woman could have been much worse than what they ended up being. The police charged her only with resisting arrest without violence and battery. They charged her with misdemeanor versions of the crime when they could have charged her with felony violations. If she is convicted of those two crimes, she may have to spend as long as one year in jail for battery and pay a $1,000 fine. She may also have to spend 12 months in jail for resisting arrest without violence. Probation is possible, but an attorney would need to request it.
