An arrest has been made in the crash that occurred two months ago, killing five people.
According to police, a 21-year-old male rear-ended a Dodge Dakota while traveling at a speed estimated to be around 97 mph in a 30 mph zone. The crash caused the Dakota to burst into flames, killing five of the six people inside. A 14-year-old girl was rescued from the car and taken to the hospital. She was able to go home the following day.
There was a third vehicle involved in the accident, resulting in minor injuries for the passenger.
The man held responsible for the accident was also injured in the crash, and is currently under arrest, facing a total of five counts of vehicular manslaughter in addition to five counts of DUI manslaughter. His bond has been set at $7.5 million dollars.
