Fort Pierce Man Accused Of Attempted Murder Apprehended Six Months After Shooting Woman

Saint Lucie Attempted Murder Defense Attorney

A 34-year-old man in Fort Pierce is in need of a Saint Lucie criminal defense attorney after being arrested for shooting a woman last September.

Officials for the Fort Pierce police department say they had been seeking to arrest the man since the September 4 incident took place at 2300 Avenue L. The victim, a 33-year-old woman who was in a domestic relationship with the shooter, was left in critical condition as a result of her injuries. She was treated at a local hospital but no details are available on her condition.

The arrest was the result of a combined effort between the United States Marshall Service, the Fort Pierce police department, and the Department of Diplomatic Security. The attempted murder suspect was arrested at a private residence in Melbourne and subsequently taken to the county jail in Broward.

The list of criminal charges includes aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and attempted murder with a firearm. He was not given the opportunity to post bail.

The right to bear arms is a fundamental right guaranteed to U.S. citizens afforded to them by the United States Constitution. Despite this fact, citizens in the state of Florida, are routinely prosecuted for exercising this constitutional right.

It is a crime in Florida to carry a concealed firearm without a license to do so. And even with a license, it is illegal to carry a firearm into an establishment that serves alcohol.

Additionally, individuals who have been convicted of felonies in the past are not allowed to possess a firearm under any circumstances. If found with a firearm, convicted felons face new felony charges and the possibility of a lengthy prison sentence.

Firearm arrests in Florida are serious and complicated matters. Individuals facing these charges in Florida should not attempt to handle these complex matters on their own. A better course of action would be to contact a skilled and competent Saint Lucie attempted murder defense attorney.
