Aggravated Battery Charges for Ft. Pierce Man After Stabbing

Two aggravated battery charges were filed against a 38-year-old Ft. Pierce resident after he reportedly stabbed two men at a multifamily residence on Wendell Road. There’s no indication as to why the attack occurred, but both men were transported by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute where they’re in serious condition. The suspect refused to give police any information about the incident.

Police arrived on location at about 10:30 a.m. One man who was cut in the neck was on the porch while the other was found bleeding on a floor inside of the home. Police report that a third man was able to grab a knife out of the alleged assailant’s hand while he was on top of the man inside of the home. Additional charges are likely to be filed.

Pursuant to Florida Statutes section 784.045, a person commits aggravated battery when he or she intentionally or knowingly causes great bodily harm, permanent disability or permanent disfigurement to another person. Use of a deadly weapon can also constitute an aggravated battery. The crime is punishable as a felony of the second degree.
